Description

Roscoe Jones, Meridian (L) and Joyce Brown, McComb (R): Mississippi Student Union 1964 officers at Freedom School Statewide Convention, August 1964.
Both were around the ages 16-17 at this time and were active in demonstrations and student organizing in their communities. Joyce Brown later became an SCC organizer and Roscoe Jones became the first black student to attend Meridian Junior College.
