Answer back
“if they gave us all the demands today, we would have a party and regroup so we can keep the movement going”
Ad Hoc ‘Sympathizer’
April 16,1969 NY Times
Don’t Strike
Regarless of SDS propaganda, anyone who attended classes yesterday or this morning is aware that the strike is not nearly effective. The only official figure for class absence yesterday comes from a survey from each department office. The strike was one 5% effective in the Geology, chemistry, biology and psychology departments (slightly higher in psychology than in the other three departments.) about 35% effective in the history and English departments. The only departments that had less that 50% attendance were philosophy and sociology (from which most of the Ad Hoc Committee and SDS are drawn).
70% OF THE STUDENTS IN THIS UNIVERSITY ATTENDED THEIR CLASSES YESTERDAY. And yesterday was a day on which attendance is usually less than 90% anyway.
DO NOT BELIEVE SDS PROPAGANDA. All classes are being held. All faculty are holding classes (including the SDS sympathizers and finks, Shiela Delaney, Mike Brown, Mike Wreszin, Saul Resnick and Henry Lesnick).
SDS talks about student participation in the educational process. Go to the SS building and look at the condition of the offices and corridor. It will cost thousands of dollars to repaint the walls and clean the floor of their ink and paint “decorations,” thousands of dollars that could be used for education in a tight budget college. SUPPORT RESPOSIBLE STUDENT PARTICIPATION, NOT SDS DESTRUCTION.
DO NOT STRIKE
GO TO CLASS
