Description

Benjamin S. Rosenthal, born June 8, 1923 in New York City, represented the city’s 8th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1962 until his death in 1983. As a U.S. Representative, Rosenthal pursued the issues that most impassioned him: consumer protection and international affairs. He was a fierce advocate for the creation of a Consumer Protection Agency, and served as Chairman on the Subcommittee for Commerce, Consumer, and Monetary Affairs.
