Title

Rare Books and Print History

Description

The rare books collection at the Queens College Special Collections and Archives comprises over a thousand items of print history dating from both modern times and many eras of antiquity.

These books, pamphlets, and artifacts serve as historical references on a broad array of topics and also as exemplary of printing processes of their day. Highlights include vellum-bound renaissance texts, nineteenth century periodical printings of classic novels, and inscribed twentieth century first editions.

Cataloged items are open for research on site at the archive. The list of processed holdings can be viewed in the CUNY online catalog: https://libsearch-cuny-edu.queens.ezproxy.cuny.edu/F/IK1MNAMJTCDKQ6BBLKE8LRXMQVA1MCD1D5R89Q48GQ8QEFTCY2-11373?func=find-c&ccl_term=WCL%3DARCH&adjacent=n&local_base=QUEENS
