Queens College
Honorary Rifle Company to Take in 25 ROTC'ers
In connection with the ROTC initiated program at Queens College this semester, a Pershing Rifle club is being formed here at Queens. There are at present 70 prospective candidates for membership for this National Honorary Military Society and Fraternity. Of the 70 approximately 25 men will be selected on the basis of their marks in the Air Science Course, their competence in drill, and character. Commanding the group is Cadet Capt. Stanley S. Lane; the Executive Officer is Cadet Capt. Otmar N. Hoffmann, the Adjutant is Cadet Capt. John P. Pless, and the First Sergeant is Hugh S. Saulman.
Last Friday, Oct. 19, CCNY's Pershing Rifles Company put on a Drill Exhibition for the candidates in front of E Annex.
Previous to the exhibition, Reg Silbey the commanding officer of the 1st Battalion Headquarters at Fordham University gave a short speech to the candidates.
