His Honor Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia
The Board of Estimate and Apportionment of [...]
The Board of Higher Education of City of New York
The Board of Education of City of New York
The Board of Regents of State of New York
Whereas the City of New York at the present [...] not sufficient facilities for higher education [...]
Whereas the high school population of Queens is great enough to warrant the providing of college facilities in that county, and,
Whereas the cost of establishing a college in Queens would be very small through the utilization and adaptation of the property of the City of New York, namely the Parental School site in Flushing,
Therefore be it resolved:
That we, the representatives of 400 organizations in Queens County representing a membership of a majority of the citizens of the County, in meeting assembled at the Central Y.M.C.A., Jamaica, N.Y., held on September 12, 1935, go on record as respectfully requesting the Mayor, the Board of Estimate, the Board of Aldermen, the Municipal Assembly, the Board of Higher Education, the Board of Education of the City of New York, to take all steps necessary for the establishment of a free city college for the Borough of Queens at the site of the Parental School in Flushing, and,
Be it further resolved that copies of this resolution be sent to the honorable persons and bodies herein above named.
