NEW ELECTION SYSTEM ADOPTED BY COUNCIL

Grace O'Rouke, chairman of the election committee of the Student Council announces a new system in selecting the representatives to the campus' legislative body. The new system will eliminate the confusion of classroom nominations which allowed students to vote for representatives in other classes other then their own.
The Nominations for the new system will be conducted by written application. Any student may nominate himself or any other member of his registered class by applying for a nomination blank at the ballot sites which will be in H and I buildings.
A preliminary election will be conducted to elect 15 of these nominees to be placed on the final ballot. This election will allow four (4) preferential votes to each student. The ballots will be marked 1, 2, 3 and 4 for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices.
The final election will be run from the lists containing the names of the 15 selected candidates. In case of identical count more than 15 names may appear for any class.
The usual Proportional Representation type of vote and tabulation will be employed to select the 4 council members from the list of 15 candidates....
Don't fail to check with the bulletin boards daily to see when nominations and elections are to be conducted.
